Rubik's Cubes!

The Rubik's Cube is a very complex puzzle. Before you learn how to solve it, you must first understand the six colors that you will be working with. Hover over each of the blank cubes below to reveal a new color!

How To Solve A Rubik's Cube

First, start by solving the white cross. This is a pretty intuitive step and it may just take a little bit of messing with the cube before you get it. Make sure the edge colors match up!

Next, go to the white corners! Again, it's pretty intuitive, but you HAVE to ensure all the colors match up!

Then you can work on the second layer. This will require you to learn a string of moves (an algorithm), but once you get it down, it's super easy!

Finally, you have the last layer. You do it similarly to the white side, where you do the yellow cross and then corners. Once you've finished that, you're all done!

Twisty Puzzles

When you think of a Rubik's Cube, most people think of the one above and believe that it is the only kind of cube. In reality however, there are so many more! Click the three boxes below to find out about the other types of twisty puzzles!

Scaled Cubes

Not all Rubik's Cubes are the normal 3x3 that you know and love. Cubes can be scaled up or down. There is everything from the 2x2, all the way up a 33x33!

Different Shapes

Cubes can also come in different shapes, which is why we tend to call them twisty puzzles instead. There are pyramids, spheres, and about any other shape you can imagine!

Shape Shifters

Twisty puzzles also don't have to stay in their original shape the whole time. For some, the more you twist them, the less they look like the shape it started in. Who knows what you'll end up with!
